Sony BDP S500 Blu-Ray Player Review
Sony has introduced the second generation of Blu-Ray players. This time has added some flavor to this generation by adding 24 pictures per second rate support and HDMI 1.3 will is the latest and greatest technology that provides a larger transfer of information of audio and video transmission.
The major features of the Sony BDP-500 are:

- Plays BD-Rom, BD, CD
- 1080 P resolution with 24fps
- HDMI 1.3 and component video output
Conclusion
One thing with Sony, you are always paying a premium for their newly introduced lines. Sony has created a nice light blue shell plate. It makes the player look upscale. Having the 1080 with 24fps is what the standard calls for now and having HDMI 1.3 to have that expandability is a plus. If you want a standalone player, this should fit the bill. There will still be a few consumers who still jump into the less expensive gaming machine PS3, that will play blu-ray disks.
